Lou Ritchie has specialized in the design and implementation of Employee Benefit plans since 1991. Focusing specifically on corporate retirement plans, Lou has addressed industry conferences and seminars on varied topics, assisting employers and their financial advisors with retirement plan training. His well-rounded understanding of 401(k) plan management, provider services and employee education assists both Plan Sponsors and their employee benefit consultants.
After completing his undergraduate studies in Finance and Economics at the University of South Florida, in 1990, Lou joined the Employee Benefits Division of The Guardian Life Insurance company in 1991. Lou eventually covered a territory from Florida to Louisiana representing Guardian’s 401(k) and retirement plan programs.
After more than a decade of field consulting experience assisting advisors and their plan sponsor clients, Lou founded Compupay Financial Partners, Inc., a financial intermediary organization which outsourced the 401(k) and benefits function for Compupay, the country’s largest privately held payroll provider. Through this business model, Compupay provided seamless 401(k) services through their national distribution network. Lou developed a national network of Third-Party Administrators and Retirement Plan Recordkeepers to provide plan consulting and vendor analysis services in each of ten national hub cities.
After the sale of Compupay to what is now Benefit Mall, Lou returned to his roots of assisting advisors in 401(k) plan consulting. Today, Lou’s consulting model includes both representing Levy & Associates, a 30+ year Retirement Plan Administration Firm located in Southeast Florida, while also supporting the needs of clients as the founder of Island Retirement Partners.
When not consulting on Retirement Plan Design and support, Lou enjoys fishing and diving in the blue waters of South Florida.
Lou is based in Singer Island, Florida and maintains client relationships throughout the Eastern United States.
